in my mapping of oas, when i traced the cabilogan river for inclusion to google/roadguide.ph navigational phil map i've learned the source of cabilogan river. it's source is from two mayon gullies (ligao side) and lake danao in camalig. heavy rains in this area will cause high rise water level and a strong current flow if the water came mostly from mayon gullies even there's a fair weather in oas, much more during typhoon. our river is now heavily silted caused by downflow of lahar from mayon gullies with this it will be useless to dredge it for we can't stop the flow of sand from mayon. the only solution to avoid flooding of oas town proper is to build a strong concrete dike on both side along the river banks from calzada. i've learned also from mr. greg conde that there was a plan to divert some of the water flow at bongoran side connecting to a small river, that might work also.

(Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns overperiods ranging from decades to millions of years. It may be a change in average weather conditions or the distribution of events around that average (e.g., more or fewer extreme weather events). Climate change may be limited to a specific region or may occur across the whole Earth.) (Source: Wikipedia) .... Let's help fight CLIMATE CHANGE!!!

Jun : Thank you for your videos which are very timely information of the aftermath of the typhoon. It also clearly show the water flow of the Cabilogan River at some sections that meanders to our town. It is pretty clear to me what needs to be considered for the technical/engineering solutions to the flooding. I am not sure though if the funds are available, and if it can be entrusted during construction for the optimum benefit of the community. I am sick and tired of the repetitive floodings that destroy property, and physically and emotionally hurt many of our constituents. Meanwhile, all I can devote is my time (pro bono) to look for solutions on this chronic and devastating beast!
